Year 3–4 Curriculum
Long-term plan
Years 3 and 4 deepen grammar and SPaG, extend maths into statistics and geometry of shape, and add French and German language units alongside science, geography, history, and a growing Diplomacy and computing strand (Scratch coding, word processing, databases).
Literacy & Languages
Reading, writing, and grammar in English, plus introductory French and German units — greetings, family, food, shopping, and daily life.
Maths
Number, multiplication and division, statistics, fractions, geometry of shape, and measurement.
Science & Geography
Light, forces and magnets, rocks, plants, land use, the Iberian Peninsula, and Mediterranean forests.
History
Cities and rural spaces, Spanish history, the Iberian people, and transportation through time.
Art & Design/Technology
Autumn and British/European art studies; bread-baking, juggling balls, and battery-operated lights projects.
Computing & Diplomacy
Online safety, Scratch coding, branching databases, presentation skills — alongside diversity, ceremonies, and pilgrimage themes.
